It’s the last day of 2011; and what better way to end an awesome year than to review the past year and count our blessings? 🙂
Here’s our year in review:
June started her second dietetic internship rotation at the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD). Part of her duties included updating the wellness boards that were scattered all over the department buildings. Here are some pictures of her wonderful job. She’s grateful and appreciative of the opportunity given to her. Her time spent amongst such wonderful people is something that she’ll always treasure and never forget.
We celebrated June’s baby brother’s birthday. Sometimes, we’re so busy with our daily on-goings that we forget to celebrate ourselves. June and Matt had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate Kenn’s birthday and his past year. Here’s to another awesome year ahead, Kenn. 🙂
We brought our little nephew to Disneyland and we all had a blast!
Matt and June went on their first trip together as a couple to Maui. They had a wonderfully awesome time. It was a week filled with fun times, good food, and some golf action, of course. And, little did June know that she was going to come back engaged. 🙂
After working so hard and giving his 110% at his current workplace, Matt was finally rewarded for his awesomeness. He was promoted and is now a QA (quality assurance) Manager with Cisco. We’re so proud of you and your achievements, Matt! 🙂
After 10 months of grueling hours and work, June finally completed her hours required for her dietetic internship and is now eligible to take her examination for Registered Dietitians.
June successfully submitted her thesis as part of her graduate program requirements. She is now on her way to completing her Master’s program!
And on June 10, 2011, June received her Master of Science in Nutritional Science. And immediately after that, June bid her farewell to her family and friends in Los Angeles and made her move to the Bay Area.
Our annual trip to Lake Tahoe. Need we say more? 🙂
June and Matt became auntie and uncle once more, respectively. On August 5, 2011, we welcomed little Nicholas Van Zant.
After months of preparation and studying, June took her examination for Registered Dietitians and successfully passed the examination. June is now June Gant, MS, RD.
Following that, June completed her requirements and passed another examination and was soon a proud holder of Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management.
And on the same month, June launched her own private consulting company.
As many of you already know, Matt and June have a deep appreciation of food and wine. What better way to celebrate their love for wine than making their own wine?
We celebrated our engagement and Thanksgiving with our family members. What better way to celebrate such a happy event than with our loved ones? We would like to say a great big THANK YOU to everyone who made it to our engagement brunch.
The following week, we had a taste of V Sattui’s Gold Room treatment. It was fantabulous and both us and our guests (Jonny and Jackie) had a wonderful and awesome time. A special shout out to our host, Randy, for the great wine and cheese pairings!
2011 was a GREAT year for us, our family and friends. We are extremely grateful to those who have made the past year so memorable. And with this post, we bid adieu to 2011 and welcome the brand new year, 2012, with open arms.
Happy New Year from the Van Zants. May the new year brings you great health, wealth, prosperity, love, joy and happiness. Here’s to an AWESOME year ahead! Salut!
