June and I have recently developed a new hobby – wine making.
As you already know, both of us are wine buffs. We love our wines and have taken one step further recently by making our own wine. A close friend of us has been making his own (red) wines for years and had invited us to participate in his exclusive wine-making sessions a few months ago. Needless to say, we promptly accepted his invitation and brought our cousin, Bryan, along as well.
This year, we’re making Cabernet – my favorite type of red wine. We crushed our grapes in early October (nearly 2 tonnes or approximately 4000 pounds of grapes!) and pressed the juice 2 weeks later. Here are some pictures that we took of the exhilarating experience.
Much credit is given to June – who relentlessly shoveled the grapes into the buckets without stopping for a rest. She was definitely one very hardworking worker!
Pictures of the wine pressing session can be found here.
