Happy Chinese New Year!! 新年快ä¹, è¬äº‹å¦‚æ„!! æå–œå‘è´¢!! 招財進寶!!
May the new dragon year brings everyone good health, abundant wealth, endless prosperity, good fortune and wonderful luck!
There’s just something about Christmas that brings a certain calmness and tranquility in our lives. There is never a greater time (well, maybe Thanksgiving) where we count our blessings and be grateful for the people in our lives.
Christmas last year was slightly different this time. We were blessed to have many additional family members join us this time around; namely Nicholas Van Zant, Kenn, Lisa, Michelle, Nicole, Nicholas Gant and Linh. They say, “the more, the merrier”, and we can certainly attest to that.
It’s the last day of 2011; and what better way to end an awesome year than to review the past year and count our blessings? 🙂
Here’s our year in review:
January 2011
June started her second dietetic internship rotation at the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD). Part of her duties included updating the wellness boards that were scattered all over the department buildings. Here are some pictures of her wonderful job. She’s grateful and appreciative of the opportunity given to her. Her time spent amongst such wonderful people is something that she’ll always treasure and never forget.
June and I have recently developed a new hobby – wine making.
As you already know, both of us are wine buffs. We love our wines and have taken one step further recently by making our own wine. A close friend of us has been making his own (red) wines for years and had invited us to participate in his exclusive wine-making sessions a few months ago. Needless to say, we promptly accepted his invitation and brought our cousin, Bryan, along as well.
This year, we’re making Cabernet – my favorite type of red wine. We crushed our grapes in early October (nearly 2 tonnes or approximately 4000 pounds of grapes!) and pressed the juice 2 weeks later. Here are some pictures that we took of the exhilarating experience.
After much anticipation, the Engagement ring has been sized and given to the sexy bride-to-be June. Here are some pictures of the ring.
Our “Save the Date” cards are complete and on its way. Keep an eye out for them. 🙂
In the meantime, here’s a sneak preview of the card. We hope you’ll like it as much as we enjoyed putting them together. 🙂
